Abstract: This article discusses the problems of ecopolitics, presents the fundamental principles and objectives of environmental policy, which is very relevant. The article presents the main aspects of European environmental policy in the field of environmental protection and rational use of resources, considers environmental problems in solving environmental problems and gives them a description. The experience of the European Union in environmental legislation is analyzed, the features of a large number of pan-European regulations are summarized. It is noted that the EU has the necessary powers to carry out international cooperation in the environmental sphere. The role of the European Union in the development of global environmental diplomacy is shown.
