Abstract: the article analyzes the regions of the Arctic zone of the Russian Federation. Research of the main socio-economic indicators will help determine the level of regional development and predict possible directions of socio-economic policy pursued by the state. The article summarizes the experience of implementing state support programs for indigenous peoples of the North, identifies problematic issues, and presents proposals. The article is devoted to current political and legal initiatives of the leading Russian organization for the rights of indigenous peoples, RAIPON, in the field of state national policy. Issues related to monitoring the implementation of the instructions of the President of Russia on the implementation of the “Strategy of the State National Policy of the Russian Federation for the period until 2035” are covered.
