Abstract: This paper examines the problem of unsteady oscillations of a fluid-saturated poroelastic half-space with an absolutely hard sphere. Specifically, it investigates the non-stationary oscillations of a kerosene-saturated sandstone half-space induced by the unsteady rotation of a hard sphere about an axis that passes through the sphere's center and is perpendicular to the half-space's plane boundary. Various parametric analyses were conducted for the region surrounding the hard sphere and on its surface. The research findings have potential applications in geophysics, seismology, structural engineering, and the design of underground reservoirs.
Key words: Non-steady rotation, hard sphere, stress, displacement, Gegenbauer polynomials, Laplace transform, residues, non-steady oscillation, poroelastic medium.
