Abstract: The article considers the problem of an elastic half-space under the action of a load uniformly distributed over a rectangle. A solution to a similar problem is known, which is obtained using the potential of a simple layer for points inside the load application area. The formula for the vertical displacement of the points of the boundary of the half-space lying inside the loading area has been refined. The relations for vertical displacements outside the loading area are also obtained. The formulas for the desired displacements outside and inside the loading area have a similar structure.
