Abstract: Tensions in modern world politics are growing. Disagreements between a number of economically, politically and militarily powerful countries reached their high point. Diplomatic relations and methods of peaceful settlement have declined. Efforts to re-divide the world are gaining momentum. The use of weapons of mass destruction in armed conflicts is increasing. This article analyzes the conflicts taking place today in the world political arena, their historical foundations and the possibility of turning into a big war, the regions and events that can be the reason or excuse for this.
