Abstract: The purpose of the article is to study the journal space of the Republic of Karakalpakstan. The main task is to identify typological features of journals published in the early years of independence. As a result of the analysis of the current state of the regional magazine press, conclusions and conclusions are made about the main trends and prospects for its further development.
