Abstract: Describes the main factors that contribute to high-quality measurement of risks and methods of investment activity in the global crisis. It is shown how structural imbalances in the economy were the main obstacle improving investment activity. The author's approach to the explanation of the reasons for the failure of the investment activity in the manufacturing sector of the economy and the development of new strategies for improving investment activity. The necessity of conducting a comprehensive study of the existing system of protection of the interests of "unskilled", retail, investors in the Republic of Kazakhstan.
