Abstract: In the conditions of growth of global tendencies and transformation of world economic processes the essence and value of strategic priority directions of sphere of material production is considered. There is a comparative advantage in terms of the share of industry, agriculture and the services sector in world GDP. The importance of developing the industrial sector through innovative and modern technologies is noted. The role of the industrial sector in providing employment is disclosed. The need for the development of the service sector and ensuring the effectiveness of the creation of the field of activity formation, taking into account the comparative advantage, is underlined. The influence of the comparative advantage factor on the development of industry, agriculture and the service sector over the 20-year period is analyzed. The importance of ensuring the effectiveness of economic development in reducing poverty in the world and determining strategic priority areas of activity of an adequate country for economic development under current conditions is generalized and substantiated.
