Abstract: It is important to define the functional characteristics of mediation in order to more clearly understand its purpose, direction, goals and objectives. At the same time, there are certain similar provisions between the law on advocates and mediators in the Kyrgyz Republic (hereinafter referred to as the Kyrgyz Republic), namely, the logic and format of the institutional construction of professional communities of mediators. The experience of building a lawyer community is to some extent applicable, but it is also important to take into account the differences between these professional communities.
