Abstract: Approaches in the criminal legislation of Kyrgyzstan regarding procedural agreements (on recognition of guilt and on cooperation) can be considered as contiguous to the American tradition of plea bargaining, but still this comparison is rather conditional in view of significant differences connected to the essential characteristics inherent in the legal systems of the Romano-Germanic (continental) and Common (precedent) legal families.
Key words: procedural agreement, plea bargaining, cooperation with investigation, criminal process, judicial and legal reform.
