Abstract: Taking into account the phraseological units of the French language, which reflected certain events in the history of France, the originality of the life of the French people, a particular historical period, the features of the French historical experience associated with "historical memory", the occurrence of past events, the French language from this point of vision in the phraseological fund of the language, several important layers can be distinguished.
