Abstract: In lexicology, the term "field" is used to refer to the structure of a given language area. The two concepts "semantic field" and "lexical field" are very often confused. However, when they differ, the term "semantic field" is usually used to characterize functioning specific to a lexical item, and the term "lexical field" to describe the relationship between several lexical items.
