Abstract: This article discusses the purpose and function of electronic dictionaries, the types of which are comprehensively explained. Offline and online dictionaries in Russian and English are analyzed. Their achievements and shortcomings are shown. Information about electronic dictionaries available in Uzbek is given. The need to create online and offline dictionaries of the Uzbek language is also emphasized, and in this regard, the world experience serves as a school.
