Abstract: The linguistic personality, with its cognitive abilities, communication needs and speech activity is a complex, multifaceted phenomenon that requires deep analysis and comprehensive observation. The creation of a typology of linguistic personalities, based on differences in styles of thinking and in the ways of developing communicative competence, both in diachronic and synchronic representation, is one of the most important tasks currently facing anthropocentric linguistics. The author, relying on the interpretation of the linguistic personality and various variants of understanding this term in the works of the leading researchers of this field, analyzes the specifics of the linguistic personality of the author in the newspaper and journalistic text.
