Abstract: The author of the article examines and analyzes the value of the family in Indian philosophy, which is one of the important social criteria. It is shown that, characteristic of the philosophy of Indian teachings, the multilateral search for ways to achieve universal agreement, with the desire to preserve unity, maintain traditions and customs in order to create harmony - is a reflection and influence of the value of family life on socio-cultural thought.
