Abstract: The article examines the culture of the dispute in the context of studying the history of euristics. The search for truth through discussions, dialogues, public discussions characterizes the culture of the ancient civilizations of India, China, and Greece. In social terms, the formation of the dispute was due to the needs of social and political life, performances in public meetings, courts, the struggle between monasteries for the support of the government, for popularity. In discussions and debates, dialectics developed as the art of discourse and rhetoric as the art of persuading.
