Abstract: In the years of independence, large-scale research was conducted on the history of the conquest of Turkestan by the Russian Empire and its transformation into a colonial country. This article is devoted to the study of the history of colonization of Turkestan region and its negative consequences in the historiography of the period of independence.
Key words: colonization, Plague revolt, dukchi Eshon revolt, Jizzakh revolt, treatise "Suppression of Turkestan", thousand-year spiritual heritage of the Uzbek people, policy of resettlement of the population from Russia to Turkestan.
