Abstract: This article provides biographical information about the life of a famous scholar in the field of Islamic jurisprudence (fihk), the science of hadith (ilmu-l-hadith) and the Koran (ulumu-l-Kur'an), Abu Jafar Tahawi. Although the descendants of the scientist were from Yemen, his grandfather, parents and he himself lived in Egypt. The article highlights the data that his parents were enlightened people and scientists. The information about how he became a famous Hanafi scholar is analyzed.
