Abstract: Directions and prospects of acceleration of reform in the spheres of municipal services in Azerbaijan are considered in the article. The essence and main elements of the organization and implementation of communal reforms are analyzed. Important elements and sequence of processes of reform in the field of public services are given. The economic aspects of the importance of public services in the economic system of the country and its role in raising the living standards of the population are revealed. Substantiated a deep change in the existing mechanisms of public services and its structures are considered too. The main elements of the organization and acceleration of reform in the areas of public services are given. The existing diversity and features of technological processes in the provision of public services are noted. The factors affirming the inefficiency of the activity of natural monopolies in the fields of public services in modern conditions are schematically analyzed. A number of recommendations and proposals on directions and prospects for accelerating reforms in the public services sector in Azerbaijan is given in the end of the article.
