Abstract: The article analyzes the periphrases used in Alisher Navoi's "Mahbub ul qulub" to express human character and traits.
Key words: generosity, ungenerous, hilm, gentle, a person with a tender nature, kindness, sympathy, the mortal world, liar and contentment, tuflise qone ', a contented poor.
