Abstract: The article studies the peculiar features of the methods of epic depiction used in the karakalpak poems on the example of T.Seitzhanov's poem «The Retreated Desert». The positive and negative sides are analyzed, which, through the use of the epic image in the artistic disclosure of the images of heroes and events in the poem, are analyzed.
