Abstract: The article deals with the issues of comparative-typological study of the Karakalpak epos. The comparative analysis of folklore of nations with different language systems let us get acquainted closer with the best works of folklore. The comparative study of folklore of different peoples is considered to be a great contribution to the development of global literary study. The author of the article distinguishes the common and specific peculiarities of the Karakalpak epos comparatively with the epos of other peoples using the leading experience of prominent scholars of the East and West. The article deals with the similarities and differences of motives of magic-event plots in folklore epic heritage of Turkic-Mongolian and Arab-Persian people on the basis of the comparative-typological method. They are the ideological-aesthetic basis in the genesis of the Karakalpak epos and Turkic folklore. The motives of magic-event plots are given in the form of transferred plots in the epic heritage of the above-mentioned people. It shows the historical cultural and spiritual connections and of these people. The opinions of foreign scholars on this issue present the first investigations of the comparative-typological character.
