Abstract: In this article, it is defined the literal skill of Alisher Navoi in using proverbs and phrases in his poetry, as well as, the role of these folklore samples in increasing the ideological and artistic value of the work. In addition, some proverbs which used in Navoi period are compared with their modern forms in Uzbek and Turkish.
