Abstract: The paper studies and presents the construction of the general structure of the control processes of cotton harvesters (CHM) with mounted systems. On the basis of the IDEF methodology, a functional control unit for the operation of the CHM with a hinged system is built. The process of functioning of the CHM is displayed in the form of a functional block that converts inputs into outputs under the influence of control actions and the necessary resources. At the same time, the role of the decision-maker (LPR) is to ensure the implementation of the research process by selecting and changing the source information, operating modes, as well as analyzing the state of the parameters of the control object. Taking into account the above, we can say that the work solves the actual problem of forming a hierarchical structure of modeling systems for evaluating management processes based on the IDEF methodology.
