Abstract: The article is devoted to the essential feature of the Russian-language stories of Sukhbat Aflatuni - dervishness as an archetype of Eastern culture. The Russian-language stories by Sukhbat Aflatuni "Clay Letters, Floating Apples", "Penuel", "Day of Doubt" vividly represent the implementation of a three-level model of the dervish image: a dervish-madman, a "false" dervish and a true dervish-savior. Each story contains one or more images of a dervish, conditioning the author's concept of preserving the spiritual memory of the people.

Key words: Dervishness, Russian-language literature of Uzbekistan, story, eastern ?issa, myth, symbolism of names, ring type of composition, retrospection, problem-thematic layer, motive.
