Abstract: Delta hepatitis virus increases the risk of liver disease and hepatocellular carcinoma in the natural course of patients with chronic hepatitis B. Quantification of HBV and HDV viral nucleic acid in hepatitis delta is very important for monitoring the development of the disease and evaluating the therapeutic effect. In our studies, we evaluated the replicative activity of HBV and HDV viruses depending on the severity of liver damage in patients with HDV infection. It was revealed that with the aggravation of the pathological process in the liver, the replicative activity of HBV DNA and HDV RNA decreased.
