Abstract: This article discusses the number of problems in literary genre and its poetic value in the Khorezm region of the XVIII-XIX century. One of the prominent poets of Khorezm was Shermuhammad Munis who is the author of the divan “Munis al-ushak” (“The Friend of the Lovers”), containing 10000 verses in it. Thus, Munis was famous for his dedication in the literary and cultural growth in Uzbek literature, which played a huge role in developing future generation of classical poets in the Khorezm region, and beyond.In addition, Munis’s vibrant and original work recognized in Khorezm’s literary environment as pivotal development of the Uzbek literature as a whole. In addition, as tradition developed in the Islamic East, the compilation of the divan “Munis al-ushak” was a good example of following the steps of Alishir Navai’s poetic school of the XV century Herat. As a whole, the research of Munis’s literary work presents a poetic wealth to the researches and readers, and can be valued as a rich heritage in the Uzbek literature.
