Abstract: The article reveals the history of the theatrical life of Karakalpakstan in the 80 s of the XX century. The cultural life of society has become a determining factor in the revival of the cultural, spiritual heritage of people who regained their national independence at the turn of the 1990 s. However, during the period under review, it was not deprived of an ideological basis, as in all actions of the Soviet state within the country. This period is characterized by a surge of interest in national history, the theme of love for the Motherland, the restoration of historical justice and issues of national spirituality.
