Abstract: The article discusses some specific aspects of development and usage of questionnaires intended to determine the level of formation of the components of intercultural competence of foreign students. The following patterns were revealed as a result of the questioning. The parameter “cognitive component” is most fully expressed among students from the countries of the former USSR (Turkmenistan, Tajikistan, Uzbekistan). The parameter “motivational component” is mostly pronounced among students from India; the parameter “communicative activity”, as well as the parameter “emotional and evaluative component”, reflecting a tolerant attitude to the values of a foreign culture, was also found in students from India and Sri Lanka, etc. In the course of the study, it was established that the parameters of the components of intercultural competence form stable combinations with nationality of foreign students. Thus, the subsequent processing and interpretation of the questionnaire data, using the Spearman's rank correlation coefficient and the Mann-Whitney U-test, give us a possibility to use the obtained information for the selection of methods and activities that increase the level of intercultural competence.
Key words: Questionnaire, evaluation method, intercultural competence, foreign students.
