Abstract: in the article, the authors outlined the strategic goal of the socio-economic development of the Republic of Karelia, namely: improvement of transport, engineering, housing and communal infrastructure as a necessary condition for the development of the economy and the social sphere; increasing the level of economic connectivity of the territory, which will ensure the growth of the quality of engineering infrastructure in the Republic of Karelia, including transport and energy; reduction of territorial differentiation of transport and energy supply of municipalities. In this case, the Republic of Karelia will be transformed in terms of indicators of the quality of life of the population and values of leisure, the creation of a humanistic urban environment in urban districts, new jobs, the transition to a model of sustainable environmental and economic development. The role of the Republic of Karelia as a center of ecological and health tourism in Russia, as well as a center of science and education of the North, an original and diverse, dynamically developing region with traditional and high-tech industries, will increase.
