Abstract: Managing the health system is impossible without a detailed analysis of statistical information coming from medical institutions. Currently, control over the activities of the health care system is largely based on aggregated statistical forms that summarize data on morbidity and mortality, as well as characterizing the activities of medical institutions. Such an approach is generally based on an understanding of health as a state of absence of diseases, which runs counter to the current WHO definition, according to which full physical, mental and social well-being is also necessary for full health. And this entails the need to revise the set of indicators necessary for the analysis of the epidemiological picture in the territory of administrative entities of any levels.

Key words: Morbidity, mortality, analysis of statistical information, medical institution.
