Abstract: The article discusses one of the Karakalpak tribes Kungrad, which has a huge role in the ethnic history of the Karakalpaks. The Kungrad tribe consists of many large and small tribal groups in the tribal structure of the Karakalpaks. The history of the origin of the tribe and its name is one of the difficult and interesting problems, and is closely related to the history of the Turkic-speaking peoples.
